The barbell & dumbbell set needed to be as lightweight as possible. They were created by laminating 1/4” plywood between 2” insulation foam. The foam was then carved to shape and plastic letterboard letters were pressed into the foam. To ensure the lettering would stay and to add some durability to the foam, numerous layers of a Smooth-On product were put on. Then the weights were painted for realism.
